A whole day of traveling later.... and we're here in Brussels (via London Heathrow and St. Pancras International)! Both London and Brussels are so GREEN! That's what I love about this area of the continent!
Our flight arrived in London at 7AM, so we planned on sleeping on the plane to kind of counteract any jet-lag and time difference. Too bad plane seats are SUPER difficult to sleep in, because you are only asleep long enough for your neck to start aching and wake you up... So we didn't get all that much sleep :( Luckily, all we really had to do after getting off the plane was to make our way to St. Pancras International to catch the Eurostar train to Brussels. And we pretty much slept the whole train ride. Then we napped some more before dinner. What a wonderful start to our trip haha.
Also, my first experience in Brussels was riding a bike again! (first time in yearsss) We're staying with Stephanie's aunt, and she rides her bike to pick up her son from school, so we tagged along. OMG it was so difficult. I am so out of shape T___T. Like literally there was a stretch that was slightly uphill (not even noticeable if you're not biking!) and I was like dyingggg, haha. Luckily the ride back was much easier since then it was pretty much all downhill. I think we biked a total of 5 miles? Whoo! Exercise for the day = Done. Also, I think my butt's gonna be sore tomorrow because the bike seat was too high or too far from the handlebars or something.... >.<
Also, Stephanie's little cousin is the most adorable little boy ever! And SO energetic. And what a little troublemaker <3
We'll finally be doing some real sightseeing tomorrow! If we can wake up in time.... haha
Did you know Brussels held the 1958 World Fair? :) Haha. It's a bit out of the city so you probably won't be able to see it...but woo Brussels! :)
